Privacy policy
Last updated 2026.
Draft pending attorney review. This describes what the site actually does today and is accurate as written, but it has not been reviewed by counsel and should be before the portal accepts real claim materials.
Who we are
Hancin Consulting provides construction estimating and claim documentation review services to law firms. This policy covers the website and client portal at client.hancinconsulting.com.
Two different kinds of information
It matters which one we are talking about, because they are handled differently.
Information about you
When you ask for an introductory call we collect your name, your firm, your email address, and optionally a phone number, a preferred contact time and a message. We also record the network address and browser your request came from, solely so that abuse of the form can be investigated. We use this to reply to you and to keep a record of the enquiry. We do not sell it, rent it, or share it for anyone else's marketing.
When your firm has an account, we hold the account holder's name, email address and a hashed password. Passwords are never stored in readable form.
Claim materials your firm uploads
Documents and images uploaded to the portal are your firm's materials. They may contain information about your clients, including named individuals and property addresses. We hold them to perform the review your firm has engaged us to perform, and for no other purpose. Specifically:
- They are stored in private cloud storage that is never publicly readable. Access is by time-limited links issued to signed-in users of the firm that uploaded them.
- They are visible to that firm and to Hancin Consulting staff performing the review. They are not visible to any other firm.
- Uploaded files are never altered. We add to the record; we do not overwrite it.
- They are not used to train any machine learning model, and they are not sold or shared with third parties for any purpose unrelated to your review.
Automated processing
We use software, including artificial intelligence services, to classify uploaded documents, read information out of them, analyse photographs and draft a proposed scope. This means the contents of uploaded files are transmitted to the providers of those services for processing under contract. No automated output is delivered to your firm without human review and approval.
Third parties
We rely on a small number of service providers: cloud hosting and storage, and an email delivery provider, in addition to the artificial intelligence services above. Each processes information only to provide its service to us.
The website itself contacts no third party from your browser. There is no analytics, no advertising, no tag manager, no external font host and no content delivery network. Everything the page loads is served from this domain.
Cookies
The public pages set no cookies. Signing in to the portal sets one cookie that keeps you signed in. There are no advertising or tracking cookies.
How long we keep things
Claim materials and the record of a claim are retained for the life of the engagement and afterwards, so that a closed matter can still be produced if it is questioned. Your firm may ask us to delete its materials, and we will do so unless we are required to retain them.
Your choices
You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, and turn off email notifications for any claim. Write to info@hancinconsulting.com.
Security
Traffic is encrypted in transit. Passwords are hashed. Access to claims is scoped to the firm that owns them and derived from the signed-in account. Material actions are written to an append-only log. No system is perfectly secure, and we do not claim otherwise.
Changes
If this policy changes materially we will say so on this page and date it.
